Bringing a teacher's curiosity to engineering, Geoffrey has evolved from ActionScript and teaching to being a product engineer, primarily focusing on the front-end (React/Next.js) while acknowledging the blurred lines of modern software engineering.
On the job, his passion lies in coaching, continuous learning, and product-first thinking, exploring technologies like Node.js and Python across the stack. While not on his day job, he values spending as little time on a screen as possible, enjoying nature through running, cycling, bikepacking, and adventures with the kids in his cargobike, as well as enduring the rollercoaster of owning a season ticket for a top-flight football team.
If you could go back in history what event would you love to experience?
I can think of a couple of iconic concerts: Sex Pistols in Manchester, Exploding Plastic Inevitable, Joy Division at The Factory, almost every concert at CBGB (Talking Heads, Television, DNA, and Mars). I would like to be able to see some bands and artists in their prime. I was born in the wrong decade :-).
We all love technology. But if you weren't working in it, what would you be doing?
I would open a record store, where I could spend my time listening to and talking about (obscure) music. A bit like the record store conversations in High Fidelity. Selling music wouldn't be a top priority.
Analytics only shows the events you remembered to add, never the ones you forgot. Let Claude instrument features as it builds them, then run a skill that audits your tracking against your own docs and live data, flagging what's missing, noisy, or quietly broken.
Integrating a tool with Claude rarely needs an MCP server. A boring script wrapped as a named, version-controlled skill does the job, and the real value shows up when two skills combine: one tool tells you what happened, another tells you why.
